Mulled Wine

STORY

So I wasn’t able to grab a good photo of my mulled wine recipe. Why? Every time I make a pot of it, it disappears! Nothing quite warms the cockles like this delicious spicy, fruity warm treat. Be sure to buy several bottles of red wine. You’ll need it! 🙂

RECIPE

  • Prep Time: 5 minute
  • Cook Time: ~20 – 30 minutes (the flavors must marry)
  • Total TIme: ~25 – 35 minute

TOOLS

  • 1 large stock pot
  • 1 wooden spoon

INGREDIENTS

1 bottle of red wine (I’m not particular on which one you should use – doesn’t need to be expensive)

1/4 cup of pomegranate juice

1/2 cup of sugar

2 orange slices

2 cinnamon sticks

1 brown cardamom seed

3 cloves

METHOD

  1. Pour wine into a stock pot.
  2. Mix in 1/4 cup of pomegranate juice, 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 orange slices, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 brown cardamon seed,  and 3 whole cloves into the pot.
  3. Bring pot to a simmer over medium low heat.
  4. When flavors have married, serve your guests… if they don’t serve themselves first!
